Jerky Treat Dangers

An Important Notice from Your Veterinarian:

There have been a number of problems reported to the FDA regarding dogs and cats becoming ill after eating jerky pet treats originating from China.  These products are mainly chicken but complaints have also included duck and sweet potato jerky treats.  These products may be labeled as jerky, tenders, strips, chews or treats.

Pet owners should use caution when feeding jerky pet treats.  Please verify the country of origin for your pet’s treats to include only those originating from the USA or Canada.  Keep in mind that treats and jerky should not be substituted for a balanced diet.  They are meant to be fed occasionally and only in small quantities.
